FieldWorks gets paid when your online payment succeeds.

Your first $5,000 in eligible online payments has no FieldWorks fee. After that, approved founding businesses get the full 2.5% founding period before moving to 5%; other businesses move directly to 5%. Project and monthly caps may lower either fee. Square fees are separate.

A request, quote, or opened checkout does not by itself produce a FieldWorks fee. The fee applies when an online payment made through FieldWorks succeeds.

    The customer can pay by card or wallet through Square, or choose a Square bank payment when the payment and seller account are eligible.

    FieldWorks securely confirms the payment with Square before updating payment status and receiving its platform fee.

Returning to FieldWorks, a failed payment, or a dismissed checkout is not proof of payment. FieldWorks waits for secure confirmation from Square.

The standard rate is 5%.

After the introductory offer, an approved founding rate can reduce the FieldWorks fee to 2.5%. Your business account shows the rate and remaining caps that apply.

Standard fees never exceed $500 per project or $1,000 per month. Founding fees never exceed $250 per project or $500 per month. Founding pricing requires a qualifying referral, founder-led pilot, or manual approval; the account shows any approved period and remaining limits.

Bank payment

A flat FieldWorks fee for eligible bank payments

After the shared first $5,000 of eligible volume, a bank payment has a flat $5 FieldWorks fee. It does not use the card project or monthly fee caps.

Bank payments are available for eligible U.S. payments of $100 or more. FieldWorks highlights this option when it could offer meaningful savings. They usually settle in 2–3 business days. The balance shown does not include Square's bank fee.

Both balances are before Square processing fees. The actual seller payout also reflects the processing fee Square sets and charges separately.

One payment. Three clearly separated roles.

The customer pays the service business through an eligible Square card, wallet, or bank payment flow. FieldWorks never presents its fee as a customer surcharge or bundles Square processing into its rate.

Each business completes payment setup

Business signup and draft work remain available while online payment setup is incomplete. Checkout turns on after the required Square setup and checkout-safety checks pass.

Service business
Acts as the seller, sets the quote and payment policy, and remains responsible for the service, refunds, disputes, chargebacks, and its Square account costs.
Square
Hosts eligible card and wallet checkout, manages eligible bank verification and authorization, credits the connected seller, and charges its processing fees separately.
FieldWorks
Coordinates checkout, receives the applicable platform fee, and updates payment status only after secure confirmation from Square.
